Governance

Our Responsibility

Trust is fundamental to achieving our goals, executing our strategies and realizing our Purpose - ethically, legally and in accordance with leading business practices. Our focus on governance underpins our approach to sustainable growth, protecting and creating value for our diverse stakeholders over the long-term and continuing to earn their trust in CF as a business partner. We enable this by nurturing a culture based on solid ethics, compliance, and transparency.

ESG Leadership, Oversight & Accountability

Overview

In 2024, we evolved our sustainability governance model (as shown below) to support effective oversight as we continue advancing our ESG priorities in a changing world. The Sustainability Executive Steering Committee approves ESG objectives and programs and ensures alignment with CF's overall strategy. The Sustainability Leadership Committee champions integration of sustainability programs into business departments and advises on business implications. Workstreams represent our annual priority action areas, such as implementing property decarbonization projects and data systems. They are supported by property teams and our business departments.

In addition, our CEO serves as executive sponsor, reporting on ESG to the CF and Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan boards. Our Board uses this information to ensure ESG objectives align with CF's corporate goals. They are supported by the Audit Committee, overseeing the integrity and compliance of ESG reporting.
